The Daily Grind has released an eleven-minute video online documenting their recent trip to Richmond, Virginia. The trip included the Daily Grind crew along with some of their friends, locals, and even a few members of the FBM crew. The trip looked like one hell of a good time, and the video is packed with solid riding from everyone involved. There’s even a session on the infamous Power’s Bike Shop ramps. You’re not going to want to miss this one.
Filmed and edited: Tony Cherry Additional filming: Gremlin / Dan Conway
Cameron Girvin has been hard at work the past few months filming for his latest edit which went live on the Ride BMX website today at 1 pm. The video was filmed entirely in the streets of Pittsburgh, and despite some delays with the video going live, the wait was worthwhile. The Berks Street bike shop and its owner Steve Tassone hosted a ‘Sunday Street Ride’ this past Sunday, October 28th. The event started with a meet-up at the Berks shop at 10 am before disbursing into the streets of Philadelphia at noon. Gene Barclay was on hand and documented some of the action which he released earlier today on his YouTube channel. The video includes riding from George Duran, Jeff Purdy, Eeshond Kirk, Davon Johnson, and many more. Shout-out to Steve at Berks for putting on another in a string of events for the Philadelphia BMX community.
The woods of Catasauqua, PA were filled with changing leaves, witches, cowboys, and 20 inch bicycles for the weekend of October 20th, 2018. Pennsylvania’s summer rainstorms have wreaked havoc on many trail riding sessions. This weekend was the perfect opportunity to make up for lost time, laps were never-ending and many riders rode into dusk, holding on to any last bit of sunshine.
The 3rd annual ‘Schwantz Best Trick Contest’ was absolute mayhem, including Decades, Double Whips, a Big Daddy Bike Transfer and celebrity judging from Cory Nastazio. John Beutner of Indiana pulled the win with a 180 Lookback.
A new contest added to the Halloween Jam this year was ‘High Air on Boomers’ and the competition was fierce! Mere inches separated competitors; Cody Diggs, Clint Reynolds and John Beutner, but in the end Cody Diggs pulled off the win.
The Halloween Jam was successful because of the dedicated locals and the incredible sponsors. Thank you to S&M, Fit, Empire, TRA, Mutiny Bikes, Action Wheels Bike Shop, and Block Bikes! To learn more about upcoming jams or ways you can help Catty and Posh, check out pawoods.com.
The annual Catty and Posh Woods Halloween Jams were held this past weekend on October 20th and 21st in the woods of the Lehigh Valley. Earlier today, Jess Grinager released a new video on his YouTube channel which he filmed during the Catty Woods Halloween Jam. Freshly back on his bike following an injury and on the heels of his closing section in Daily Grind’s “Rerouting” DVD, Jeff Purdy dropped a new web video online today as a thank you to everyone that has supported him along the way including GT Bikes and Daily Grind. The video was filmed mostly around the Philadelphia area with a few clips mixed in from NY and his native Delaware. Keep an eye out for an interview with Jeff in the upcoming third issue of the magazine. This one is sure to get you stoked to go out and pedal. Click play and check it out.
Earlier this morning, Jess Grinager released the second video he produced from the second annual ‘Women’s Weekend In The Woods’ on his YouTube channel. This time around, the video is composed of all the bangers that went down over the course of the weekend. Once again, a big round of thanks to Jess Grinager, Tasha Lindemann and Taryn Hipp for their help in staging, organizing, and providing us with coverage from the event. We’ll be looking forward to next year. Click play and check it out!
The 2nd Annual Women’s Weekend in the Woods took place September 22 and 23rd in the woods of Pennsylvania. A simple idea that came together during the cold Northeast winter months last year has proven to be a success yet again. With the support of our jam sponsor T1 and all of the companies that sponsor the trails including S&M, Fit, and Empire BMX, we were able to give women a weekend to come ride trails knowing the woods would be full of other girls. With more women coming out to ride the trails this year than last, it was an awesome weekend where riders of all ages and skill levels could come together to enjoy riding bikes & roasting jumps.
Women’s Weekend in
the Woods is a low-key, low-pressure event where girls can come and ride Catty
and Posh Woods, two legendary trails spots within driving distance of one
another. There are no contests, no clinics, no rules. Just come hang out in the
woods and get stoked on trails. Women brought their families, their dogs, their
infectious positive energy and for two days nothing mattered but BMX.
Friendships that
were created last year grew stronger this year, as women from all over the
world came to ride, many of which were jumping higher and going faster than
they had last year. There were also women there who had never ridden BMX before
but wanted to try it & Women’s Weekend in the Woods provides that safe and
supportive environment to send it for the very first time. I am forever
grateful for the women’s BMX community and the locals who came together to make
this event happen as well as everyone who supports Catty and Posh all year
round. See ya in the woods!
The second annual ‘Women’s Weekend In The Woods’ was held on September 22nd and 23rd at Catty and Posh Woods. The event was organized by Taryn Hipp and brought together women from all over with the shared passion of riding BMX for a weekend of trail riding stoke in the woods of Pennsylvania.
Jess Grinager was on hand to document the event and released the first of two videos on his YouTube channel earlier today. Keep an eye out for part two and don’t forget to subscribe to Jess’s YouTube channel for more videos.
