Women’s Weekend In The Woods (Part One)

The second annual ‘Women’s Weekend In The Woods’ was held on September 22nd and 23rd at Catty and Posh Woods. The event was organized by Taryn Hipp and brought together women from all over with the shared passion of riding BMX for a weekend of trail riding stoke in the woods of Pennsylvania.

Jess Grinager was on hand to document the event and released the first of two videos on his YouTube channel earlier today. Keep an eye out for part two and don’t forget to subscribe to Jess’s YouTube channel for more videos.

On Saturday, August 25th, the Stink Pit crew premiered their latest video ‘Stink Pit 5’ in Aston, Pennsylvania. The event was hosted at Ryan Serrano‘s new house and included a DIY ramp session, a BBQ, the premiere of the video, and a bonfire to cap off the night. Shortly after, Ryan reached out to us with some photos from the event shot by Dave Homer. The photos took a while to obtain, but they are finally available for your viewing pleasure after the jump.

Special thanks to Ryan Serrano, Dave Homer, and the Stink Pit crew.

Grindworks BMX – Pittsburgh Street Jam

Grindworks BMX hosted their annual Pittsburgh Street Jam on Saturday, June 30th, and the video from the event is finally online. The jam was moved from the streets to the Sheraden Skatepark later in the day due to some police interaction, but not before the jam made its way through several of Pittsburgh’s many street spots. There’s a lot of great riding in here and we are proud to have been able to co-sponsor the event along with a long list of other companies. Shout-out to Grindworks for putting on these events and always supporting the Pennsylvania scene. You can read more about the jam after the jump.

Second Annual Women’s Weekend In The Woods

Flyer by: Mo Malone

The second annual Women’s Weekend In The Woods is taking place at Catty & Posh Woods on September 22nd and 23rd. Taryn Hipp, the event organizer, has an in-depth interview on the Magnolia BMX website about last years jam and what to expect for this years. Head over to Magnolia’s website and read the interview which includes photography provided by our own Tasha Lindemann as well as a video provided by Bette White.

Posh Woods High Air Contest

The third annual Posh Woods High Air Contest was held this past weekend despite a rainy Labor Day weekend forecast. The jam was pushed from Saturday to Sunday, September 2nd, due to some rain that lasted through Friday night into early Saturday morning. For the locals, Saturday’s postponement provided a last-minute opportunity to fix the damage caused by the storm and get everything running smoothly for the following day.

This year a ‘Best Whip’ contest was also added to the mix with the jam kicking off at 10 am Sunday and the contest portion at 1 pm. In the end, Ever Peacock emerged as the 2018 High Air Champion, clearing over fifteen feet of air on The Butcher Jump as well as taking first in the ‘Best Whip’ contest. Congratulations to all the winners and a huge thank you to Jess Grinager for filming and editing the above video as well as the Posh locals, from whom none of this would be possible without.

Stink Pit 5 Premiere

The Stink Pit crew will be premiering their fifth DVD release, “Stink Pit 5”, on Saturday, August 25th, 2018, in Aston, Pennsylvania. Check the flyer for additional details and make sure to follow the Stink Pit crew on Instagram for updates and more.

Adem Gunaydin – Welcome To Legend Bikes

Ride PA BMX is proud to present the exclusive premiere of Adem Gunaydin’s “Welcome To Legend Bikes” video. Adem was picked up by Legend Bikes shortly after the third and final stop of the Uncovered BMX series which took place at the Four Seasons Skatepark in Milwaukee earlier this year. While Adem has been recovering from surgery on his ACL, MCL, and meniscus, his “Welcome Edit” is composed of footage that pre-dates his knee injury. The video was filmed and edited by Nick Elison with additional filming provided by Chris Girouard. Congratulations to Adem and we look forward to seeing him back on his bike soon.

Retrospective: The Final Street Series

The Street Series was originally started in the U.K. by Tom Creasy, DUB BMX, and Monster Energy. In its six-year lifespan, The Street Series grew from an idea into a globally recognized event staged in cities around the world and held in support of BMX Day. The final Street Series took place on Saturday, July 22, 2017, and was hosted in Melbourne, Moscow, Paris, London, San Diego, and Philadelphia. Dan Lacey returned to host the event in Philadelphia for the second year in a row, and with the assistance of Matt Miller and the Chocolate Truck crew, guided the crowd of hundreds of BMX riders from spot to spot through the neighborhoods of North Philadelphia.

One year later, we reconnected with some of the locals that were in attendance as well as our contributing photographers, Sam Downs, Frank Ashbridge, and Kyle Dipilla, for a look back at the final Street Series in Philadelphia. Frank Ashbridge also edited together some previously unseen footage that he filmed during the 9th and Poplar stop of The Street Series.

We hope you enjoy.

Dave Krone 2017-2018 Iphone Edit

Dave Krone released his latest edit online this morning. The video was filmed between 2017 and 2018 on an old iPhone that was given to Dave by Ryan Navazio (@yo_navaz) to start an Instagram account. In lieu of a filmer, Dave made use of a set of pliers as a makeshift tripod to film most of the footage, with some additional filming provided by Lewis Colascione (@lewiscolascione) and Sammi Pine (@dreamweaverxo). You can read more about the video in Dave’s own words below, and don’t forget to follow Dave on Instagram (@kavedrone).
