‘Mad Mike’ Guth – Wallride
As we count down the final hours of 2018, it’s time once again for our annual year-end list of the top videos from the past year. Take a look back with us at some of the videos that we felt made the strongest impression on our viewers and the scene as a whole. The list is in no particular order and is not based on any web statistics or analytics. Simply put, there are no winners or losers. With that in mind, we invite you to sit back, re-watch and enjoy.
1. Adem Gunaydin – Welcome To Legend Bikes USA
https://www.ridepabmx.com/adem-gunaydin-welcome-to-legend-bikes/
In August we exclusively premiered Adem Gunaydin’s ‘Welcome To Legend Bikes USA‘ video here on the site. Adem’s inaugural video is packed from start to finish with solid riding and jaw-dropping bangers. The video was filmed and edited by Nick Elison with additional filming provided by Chris Girouard. Adem is currently recovering from knee surgery he had earlier in the year, and we hope to see him back on his bike in 2019!
Uncovered BMX Stop Two
While digging through our video archives from this past year and continuing with our theme of back-posting, we also noticed that the second stop from the Uncovered BMX contest was absent. That simply won’t do, so here’s a look back at the second stop of the series.
The second stop of the Uncovered BMX contest series took place at The Wheel Mill in Pittsburgh, PA on Sunday, February, 25th. The event included special judges, announcers, and of course, a ton of wild riding. The event also helped catapult ‘Mad Mike’ Guth into the wild card spot at the Battle Of Hastings.
Results:
Semi-Pro – 1st – George Duran, 2nd – Nick Fix, 3rd – Jordan Capece
Intermediate – 1st – Maxx Corbett, 2nd – Ryan Sanborn, 3rd – Tyler Cramer
Brian Foster – Live The Dream
Last week Ryan Navazio caught everyone off-guard when he dropped a new video online featuring Brian Foster appropriately titled, Live The Dream. For many of us, the idea of being a pro BMX rider is as good as it gets, but Brian has lived that dream for nearly thirty years now. A recent inductee into the Hall of Fame, Brian continues to be the embodiment of that dream every time he steps on his bike, even if it’s not as frequently as he would like.
Animal Bikes Philadelphia
While we were digging through the archives in search of material for our annual year-end list of the top 12 videos of the year, this one was notably missing so here it is in the name of good archiving. Better late than never right?
Back in August, Animal Bikes dropped a five and a half minute video online titled ‘Animal Bikes Philadelphia’ shot entirely in the City of Brotherly Love. The video was filmed by Justin Benthien and includes riding from Ben Lewis, Augie Simoncini, Chase Dehart, Matt Miller, ‘Mad Mike’ Guth, and more. The video also serves as an introduction to Animal’s latest pro, Johnny Raekes.
What I Ride – ‘Mad Mike’ Guth
Ride BMX has released a new installment in their “What I Ride” series showcasing ‘Mad Mike’ Guth’s GT Globetrotter / Animal Bikes build. Mike gives you a part-by-part breakdown of his ride complete with mismatched colored pedals, a bullet casing valve cap, and missing bar ends. You can also check out a text list of what Mike is running on his bike by clicking here.
GT – Albert Mercado & Jeff Purdy In AZ
Albert Mercado and Jeff Purdy recently took a week-long trip to Arizona on behalf of GT Bikes to link up with videographer Ryan Chadwick. The trio spent five days cruising the spots and ditches of AZ and turned out this video that dropped online earlier today. This one has a great vibe and production value along with some really solid riding. Check it out!
Daily Grind: Rerouting – Jeff Purdy
Ride BMX has uploaded the final section from the Daily Grind ‘Rerouting’ video featuring Jeff Purdy on their website and YouTube channel. Jeff closes out the video with one hell of a banger but not before laying down four minutes of mind-melting riding. You’re not going to want to pass this one by.
