In 2014, Jib released their third mixtape “Jib Tape #3” to a wide audience thanks to the video almost immediately being available online. Since then, the minds behind the Jib project have been hard at work filming for their fourth mixtape.
We asked Jon Schimpf a handful of questions about the upcoming mixtape and got some insight into the videos pending release. You can read the Q&A and watch “Jib Tape #3” in it’s entirety, after the jump.

1) When did filming for the fourth tape begin?
The filming process is closing in on two years this February.
2) What format will the video be in standard or HD?
Standard definition.
3) What kind of equipment have you been using during filming?
I have used the same model of camera (Panasonic DVX-100b) for the entire two years to keep the look consistent throughout.
4) Who can we expect to see in the new mixtape?
You can expect many clips from Pat Schlitzer, Joby Suender, Steve Tassone, Nick Bott, Joe Kirschenbaum, and a giant melting pot of clips that include: Daniel Kelleher (Gannwear), Eric Capone, Fran Meehan, Dan Conway, Marty Moore, Eddie Grabert, Mike Swift, Cody Neiswender, Josh Stair, Nick Barrett, Kevin Vannauker, Matt Miller, Ryan Niranonta, Joe Niranonta, Tommy Gunn, Pugwash (Grant Maddox), Breyon Woods, John Yoh, James Hess, Fateem Williams, Chris Andrijiw, Kevin Bass, Chris Volkwine (Baboon), Sean Carroll (ChickenWang), Brian Donahue, Robbie Downward, Ryan Scott, Justin Benthien, Tony Meeks, Jersey Joe and a set of clips from myself. That list is literally everyone featured in the video, ranging from one clip to multiple minutes of footage.
5) Will you be releasing Tape #4 to DVD like the previous tape?
Yes, there will be DVD’s available. It will also live on the internet.
There is currently a limited run of t-shirts available in the Jib Big Cartel (Pat Schlitzer designed), that we might bundle as a package option of some sort.
6) Are you expecting to hold a premiere for the video?
I’ve been in some conversations about it, so we’ll see. Maybe!
7) When are you hoping to release the video?
Winter 2016.
8) Do you have any stories or memories that stand out from the filming on Tape #4?
I’ve seen a lot of odd things during the filming of this project, thanks primarily to the city i live in. There is never a dull moment when cruising around the neighborhoods of Philadelphia. Car accidents, massive sinkholes, wheelie kids, twelve o’ clock boys, declining offers for narcotics by kids young enough to be my own, being referred to as “Tony Hawk” over and over again as if I’m skating, more junkies nodding out than I can count, very rational property owners, very irrational property owners, block after block of cracked hydrants in the summers, being stopped by a homeless man who didn’t want any change but offered you his gin, breaking my own collar bone by accidentally doing a pole jam while follow filming someone doing a pole jam. The list could go on forever. I try to surround myself with people who enjoy riding and don’t take themselves too seriously, so it’s been nothing but great memories thinking back on all the sessions that have gone down in the past two years during filming.
9) The Jib crew has also been filming for some other projects. Can you elaborate a little more on those projects?
The JIB series has always more of a scene report and less of the typical “crew” video project. Pat Schlitzer initially conceived it and does the branding/identity work. I film and edit it. I’ve always been excited to meet new riders from my area/surrounding areas and clock some clips in between other projects they might be currently filming for. I’m always down to help out with secondary filming duties on other projects (SP in the past when they still shot standard definition, CT when Matt is in town), and usually place those larger projects before JIB when out with a big crew.
10) Do you foresee a Tape #5 in the future?
Absolutely. HUGE thanks is owed to all the dudes out there who put in work and have patience to see their efforts end up in something that aims to be larger than the average web edit. Documenting street riding is truly a passion for me, and I appreciate all of the talented riders who have given me the opportunity to film with them. You know who you are.
