Read More “Ride PA BMX – Issue Three”The Street Series was originally started in the U.K. by Tom Creasy, DUB BMX, and Monster Energy. In its six-year lifespan, The Street Series grew from an idea into a globally recognized event staged in cities around the world and held in support of BMX Day. The final Street Series took place on Saturday, July 22, 2017, and was hosted in Melbourne, Moscow, Paris, London, San Diego, and Philadelphia. Dan Lacey returned to host the event in Philadelphia for the second year in a row, and with the assistance of Matt Miller and the Chocolate Truck crew, guided the crowd of hundreds of BMX riders from spot to spot through the neighborhoods of North Philadelphia.
One year later, we reconnected with some of the locals that were in attendance as well as our contributing photographers, Sam Downs, Frank Ashbridge, and Kyle Dipilla, for a look back at the final Street Series in Philadelphia. Frank Ashbridge also edited together some previously unseen footage that he filmed during the 9th and Poplar stop of The Street Series.

To coincide with National BMX Day, we are proud to announce the official launch of our new zine. Ride PA BMX Issue #1 will be available in mid to late August and spans the Spring / Summer of 2017. The zine is 5.5″ x 8.5″, printed in full color on gloss paper and features over 60 pages of original content from the Pennsylvania BMX scene. A digital release of the zine will also be available for free once copies of the zine have sold out.

This is Jon’s first edit so it will be interesting to see more from him in the future. ECD has updated their site with some new photos from a couple of Spring sessions. The first photo is of AJ Herrera (attached) shot in Philadelphia by Nilo Hodge. The second half of the photos contains shots from The Yea / Butchers Block Jam featuring Evan Smedley, McLovin’, AJ Herrera, Nilo Hodge and Dillman shot by Adam Rell with the exception of Evan’s photo which was also taken by Nilo, make sure you check them out.

The mix includes riding from Sam Downs, Brandon Kaefer, Kevin Little, Carl Espy, Kenden Helm, Will Downs, Adam Hoffman, Colby Richard, Garrett Darr, Evan Smedley, Michael Stahl and Danny Mentzer.
