On January 1st, 2023, after 25 years, Penn Skate closed it’s doors forever. Nilo Hodge captured some of the last sessions in the iconic park during its final days and put the footage together for the latest ECD web video. The video includes riding from Dustin Clewell, Jake Rutkowitz, Jarrett Dillman, Justin Mitchell, Nilo Hodge, AJ Herrera, Dylan Heckman, Chopper, Mad Mike, and more.

On Sunday, June 3rd, Actions Wheels Bike Shop, and Merritt BMX hosted their fourth annual Hosed Jam at the Bethlehem Skateplaza. Justin Care and Brandon Begin were on hand during the event while Action Wheels owner Scott Effting documented the action. As we approach the end of the year, it’s time once again to kick off our series of year end posts. Every year, we publish a long list of videos on this site. In the fast paced environment that is the internet they are here one minute and archived the next. Although this one has already made the rounds online it couldn’t be overlooked for our archives and is easily worth a second watch for anyone who’s already seen it. Chopper and Nilo Hodge filmed the edit during a two hour session at the Bethlehem Skateplaza. You can read some words from Nilo about the filming process below.
“I met up with Richard “Chopper” Viands at the Bethlehem Skateplaza to shoot a thirty minute edit. Thirty minutes turned to an hour, an hour turned to two hours. After two hours I decided to name this edit Afternoon With Chopper. He has an awesome style, super technical but can throw down huge stuff whenever.” – Nilo Hodge
Dustin Clewell put together a new mix of some old unused skatepark footage stored on his computer. The video features Dustin Clewell, Chopper, Knick Smith, Grant Bass, AJ Herrera, Cotton Robbins, Justin Mitchell and more riding a variety of skateparks in the Pennsylvania area. There’s some pretty wild stuff in here including an impressive Icepick grind to 180 Lookback by Chopper towards the end. Hit play and check it out.

On Friday, May 29th, Action Wheels Bike Shop hosted a jam titled ‘The Hosed Jam’ at the skateplaza in Bethlehem, PA. Frank Ashbridge was on hand for the event to shoot photos for his Shutter Destruction project. Frank was kind enough to send through a photo gallery from the event which he shot and edited. Over the last few weeks some photos and videos have turned up online of the new Skavenger X Atown Trash collaboration frame. Animal Bikes dropped a promo for the frame on their website today with the news that the frame is now available. The promo features the Atown Trash crew including Knick Smith, Derek Payne, Fateem Williams, McLovin’, Chopper, Dustin Clewell and many more. The Skavenger X Atown Trash frame is available for purchase through the Animal Bikes online store.
Dustin Clewell uploaded this new edit of Richard Viands, aka “Chopper” last night which is well worth the watch… coincidentally today is also Chopper’s birthday so we want to wish him a happy birthday.
