Sam Downs – Best of 2023
Sam Downs was halfway through his ‘Self Filmer’ series when he received a cancer diagnosis. Sam is doing well after having surgery and has since relocated to Colorado. He recently dropped a compilation of clips from 2023, filmed predominantly in Pennsylvania, before heading Rocky Mountain Way.
We wish Sam the best with his health and future endeavors and owe him a debt of gratitude for all he has done for Ride PA BMX and the scene during his time on the East Coast. Thanks for everything, Sam!

Milky & Stahl – Double Take
This one dropped back in October, but at the time, the website was suffering from a database crash, from which we are still recovering. With that said, this one couldn’t be overlooked. Back in late August, Mike Stahl returned home to Pennsylvania with Mikey ‘ Milky’ Andrew and filmed a nearly six-minute split video on behalf of S&M and Fit Bike Co. with Sam Downs serving as filmer and editor.
Sam Downs ‘Self Filmer’
Sam Downs took a year worth of self-filmed clips and put them together in a new video aptly titled ‘Self Filmer’. The video includes two minutes of footage shot in Philadelphia, with a few clips from Florida thrown in the mix. Don’t forget to stop by Sam’s YouTube to like and subscribe for more.

Casey Longshore, Grant Yoobie, and Gremlin drove through Pittsburgh to scoop up Chase Bucci en route to Philadelphia for a recent Daily Grind trip to Philadelphia to link with Jeff Purdy and friends (Scott Steele, Rainer Etsweiler, Angus Tuttle, Dan Conway, & Sam Downs). The Daily Grind crew always delivers a barrage of heavy grind combos and variations, and their Philadelphia trip video lives up to those expectations. You can also catch the SD version after the jump.

Retrospective: The Final Street Series
The Street Series was originally started in the U.K. by Tom Creasy, DUB BMX, and Monster Energy. In its six-year lifespan, The Street Series grew from an idea into a globally recognized event staged in cities around the world and held in support of BMX Day. The final Street Series took place on Saturday, July 22, 2017, and was hosted in Melbourne, Moscow, Paris, London, San Diego, and Philadelphia. Dan Lacey returned to host the event in Philadelphia for the second year in a row, and with the assistance of Matt Miller and the Chocolate Truck crew, guided the crowd of hundreds of BMX riders from spot to spot through the neighborhoods of North Philadelphia.
One year later, we reconnected with some of the locals that were in attendance as well as our contributing photographers, Sam Downs, Frank Ashbridge, and Kyle Dipilla, for a look back at the final Street Series in Philadelphia. Frank Ashbridge also edited together some previously unseen footage that he filmed during the 9th and Poplar stop of The Street Series.
We hope you enjoy.
